WINE TOUR along the roads and hills around Pisa, named “Strada del Vino delle colline pisane”

The “Strada del Vino delle Colline Pisane” is a route that mainly curls along the hills of Valdera and of lower Valdarno, close to many villages such as: San Miniato, Peccioli, Lajatico, Terricciola,  Fauglia, and Crespina Lorenzana.

This route crosses an antique and extended territory characterized by an extraordinary natural landscape and by the work of men; a surprising scenery due to its variety, for its colors and for the most precious treasures it produces: wine and olive oil.

Here we can find different landscapes that can meet the traveler’s curiosity: steep and wild landscapes typical of high Valdera around the small village of Palaia; the mild hills with vineyards and olive trees around San Miniato, the hills full of vineyards of Terricciola; the wide landscapes that can be contemplated from the hills of Peccioli; the vast fields of wheat and the vineyards between Lajatico and Terricciola; the hills and the flats around Lari, Crespina and Fauglia; the peach and cherry trees around the small village of Lari.

In the Chianti area another wine is produced, both red and white, where for the red one the main vine is the Sangiovese, while for white one the main vine is Trebbiano.
